Accessibility statement

We build every jar page to work with a keyboard, a screen reader and a browser zoomed to 200 percent.

This page lists the specific things we have done across the catalogue, the calculator and the inquiry form, and where we still have work left, so you can judge for yourself rather than take our word for it.

Where we stand

Built to WCAG 2.1 AA, checked by hand, not just by a tool.

Velaxmora is a small catalogue site, not a large retailer, and we do our own accessibility work rather than outsourcing it. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 at level AA across every page — the home statement, the four category pages, the formulation story, the supply calculator and the inquiry form included. We test with a keyboard alone, with a screen reader, and at 200 percent browser zoom on a 320px-wide viewport, because that is roughly where our own site would break first if it were going to.

We are not certified by any outside accessibility body, and we do not claim this page proves compliance — it states what we have specifically done and asks you to tell us where it falls short.

What is built in, page by page

Skip link
Every page opens with a visible "Skip to content" link that appears on keyboard focus and jumps straight past the header to the main content, before the navigation links.
Keyboard access
The mobile menu toggle, the FAQ accordions, the cookie index on the cookie policy, the jump chips on the privacy policy and the supply calculator's inputs all work with Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter and Space alone. Nothing on this site depends on hover or on a drag gesture.
Focus visibility
A focused control gets a visible outline in our clay accent colour, offset from the edge of the control so it is never hidden behind rounded corners or a border.
Colour and contrast
Body text on our stone, blush and cream grounds is set in dark ink, and body text on the dark ink ground is set in warm cream, each combination checked to meet at least a 4.5:1 contrast ratio for regular text.
Text resizing and reflow
Headings and body copy use fluid sizing that scales with the viewport rather than a fixed pixel size, and the layout reflows to a single column below 768px so nothing needs horizontal scrolling to read, including our longest product names such as Quiet Hours Night Cream and Daily Barrier Cream.
Images and alt text
Every photograph, from the flat-lay on the home page to the close crop of a dropper bottle on the facial oil page, carries alt text describing what is actually in the frame rather than a generic caption, and no image is used to convey information that isn't also written out in the surrounding text.
Forms
Every field on the inquiry form and the chat widget has its own visible label, not a placeholder standing in for one, and an error is written next to the field it belongs to and read out by a screen reader when it appears.
Motion
The sticky-image scrollytelling on our formulation page and the read-progress bar both switch to a plain stacked layout with no motion when a visitor's system is set to reduce motion.

Where we know we still have work to do

The supply calculator's live result updates as you type, and while it is announced through an accessible live region, a very fast typer may hear more updates than they want; we are working on debouncing that announcement without hiding the result. The cookie policy's sticky section index requires JavaScript to track your position accurately — it degrades to a plain "Jump to" list without it, but the tracking itself does not work with scripting off.

If a page, a form or the calculator did not work with your assistive technology, we would rather know today than assume it is fine. Tell us the page, the device and roughly what happened, and we will look at it and reply.
